Amarone della Valpolicella 2011

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Grape varieties: Corvina, Rondinella.
Vineyard area: The grapes were grown in the estate’s own vineyards near the city of Verona.
Yield: 7 tonnes (from 3000 to 5000 vines per ha depending on age and on growing system).
Training system: Guyot.
Harvest Date: From the end fo September to the beginning of October. The selection method is manual, as only the best part of each bunch is picked.
Vinification: At the beginning of January. Alcoholic fermentation took place in tronconic stainless steel tanks, at the controlled temperature of 14 C°with daily pigeage.
Elevage: In wooden barrels for several months and additional ageing after bottling, before being released to the market.

Sugars: 4,08 g/l

TASTING NOTE

Beautiful, bright ruby colour, with hint of garnet. Perfumed and elegant, with red cherry with a touch of sweet vanilla. Great freshness and succulence on the palate, with lovely tannic grip and a long red fruit and spice finish. Ready now and deserves extended cellaring.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Red meat, aged cheeses and game.
